Session 3: December 9 – January 17, 2014, Session 4: January 20 – February 28, 2014, Session 5: March 3 – April 11, 2014. Kids’ Kitchen is a unique culinary experience which will offer cooking classes to children in a safe environment that will encourage discovery and creativity. Each visit to Kids’ Kitchen is a new experience with fresh monthly themes and exciting new programs. Students sharpen their skills employing the mantra, “Mise en Place” which, in the cooking world, translates into “Everything in its place.” Children will learn the basics in kitchen safety, proper food handling, food preparation, cooking techniques, presentation and so much more! Jan. 14th: Homemade Raviolis, Feb. 11th: Chocolate covered apples, Mar. 11th: Shamrock Pretzels, April 8th: Blueberry Muffins, May 13th: Homemade Pizzas, and June 10th: Homemade baked Chicken Nuggets. AMERICAN GIRL CRAFTS

Calling all American Girl fans! Join your friends for a fun filled afternoon making one of a kind crafts, listening to American Girl stories, playing traditional games and yummy refreshments. CT COMPUTER EDUCATION SESSIONS:
Basics to Building: Pre-School Ages 3 to 6, Wednesdays: March 26, April 2, 9, 16, & 23, 2014, Time: 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
Young children love to build and building is a great way to enter the world of engineering. This hands on approach to simple machines introduces the basic concept of physical science and engineering. Children will use the Duplo Building System to create animals and machines to buildings and vehicles. This class is designed especially for the preschoolers. Fee: $50.00 (Non-residents $60.00)
Art and Exploration – To the Moon and Back Again:

Explore our new form of space travel in this action packed class. Journey into our atmosphere, check out the outer galaxy of our solar system. Enjoy this hands-on program 2 that brings children on a quest for exploration! Learn about the Milky Way, navigation, comets, planets, stars and much more. This class uses computer technology and arts and crafts. Fee: $50.00 (Non-residents $60.00)
Lego Warriors To The Rescue:
Grades K – 5, Wednesdays: January 29, February 5, 12, & 26, 2014, Time: 4 – 5:15 p.m.
Come join our newest Lego Class called Robo Warriors. Build your own super team of warriors. These Warriors have surprises from a spear to wings. You can build some awesome warriors from our designs or your own creation. Combine as many pieces as you can to design the ultimate Warriors. This class is co-ed and requires you to guild with a team member. Please bring a small snack. No Legos will be taken home. 5 weeks (no-makeup classes. Fee is $90.00 (Non-residents $100)

Come join the fun building our newest Robots. These robots can be mini robots to extreme robots, children will use their imagination to build their awesome robot. This class includes step-by-step instructions and/or inspiration for 14 creations. This class is co-ed and is a teamwork setting. Children will have time to create their own inventions. Comic Book 101:
Grades K – 4, Wednesdays: April 30, May 7, 14, & 21, 2014, Time: 4 – 5:30 p.m.
Write and design your own comic book about princesses, goblins, genies and other fairy tale figures. Create you own characters (even scary looking monsters) for your comic book scenes. Animate your story and see it come to life on paper. Children will work with a partner to create their own masterpiece collection. Please bring a snack. Your child will receive a copy of their book in about a month after class ends. Fee: $85.00 (Non-residents $95.00)
Airplanes and More Airplanes:
Grade K – 5, Wednesdays: May 28, June 4, 11, 18 & 25, 2014, Time: 4 – 5:30 p.m.
Did you say airplanes made of paper, solar and wood? What type of paper produces the best Airplanes? Investigate which accelerates faster and further. This class includes experiments with kites, parachutes and windsocks. This fun filled class has many surprises in store. Please bring a snack. Fee: $90.00 (non-residents $100.00)
Zumba is exercise in disguise! It’s a Latin inspired dance fitness class that uses international music and dance rhythms together for the ultimate exercise experience. You do not have to know how to dance to take a Zumba class. We create a non-competitive party atmosphere where participants can interpret the dance rhythms in their own way. Beginning January 6, 2014; Classes: Mondays – 4-4:45 p.m. Zumba Kids (between the ages of 5 – 11 yrs. old), 5-6 p.m. Zumba Gold & 6:15-7:15 Zumba Hip Hop, Thursdays – 10-11 a.m., 6:15-7:15 p.m. Zumba Hip Hop, Saturdays – 9-10 a.m. Zumba Fitness. INSTRUCTIONAL YOUTH BASKETBALL:
For boys and girls in Grades 2 & 3. Children will learn offense and defense skills, practice shooting and play mini scrimmages. The children will meet on Saturdays beginning December 7, 2013 at the Joel School gym. The fee is $35, which includes a T-shirt. A $10 late fee (per family) will be added if registration & payment wasn’t received by November 16, 2013.
FIRST GRADE YOUTH BASKETBALL:
For boys and girls in 1st grade. Children will learn the fundamentals of basketball. They will meet on Saturday afternoon beginning January 5, 2014 at Joel School gym. The fee is $20, which includes a T-shirt.
ADULT CO-ED VOLLEYBALL:
(Adults Only) Open gym! Have some fun and join us for a friendly game of volleyball! The games will be played on Monday evenings from 7:30-9:30 pm at the following locations.

GIRL’S SOFTBALL PROGRAM:
For girls in Grades 1-3. Program is held on Mondays and Wednesdays after school from 3 – 5 pm at the Peters Complex. Practice will begin April 21, 2014 (weather permitting), Games will begin May 5, 2014 and the program ends June 11, 2014. Fee is $35.00. Registration forms will be sent home after the February vacation.
ONE DAY – CT SAFE BOATING & PERSONAL WATERCRAFT COURSE:
This single session, 8-hour course, taught by Professional Marine Education, provides a certificate of completion as partial fulfillment of the requirements to obtain the Certification of Personal Watercraft Operation, which allows the operation of motorized recreational vessels up to 65’ and sailboats 19½’ in length and longer. Upon successful completion of this course the student can mail or deliver the diploma to any State DEP office, and combined with an application for certificate (provided) and appropriate fee, qualifies the student to obtain the certificate of Personal Watercraft Operation. The certificate is a one-time, lifetime certification. Students should bring a pen or pencil to class. You are also given ¾ of an hour for lunch (please bring a light lunch with you).
